I've been wondering why Vino has been such a food hound lately. Finally
clued in that he wasn't eating his dry food at all. I put him in front

of
the bowl and tried to get him to eat, but he stiff-armed the bowl and

backed
away from it. I dumped it and tried another flavour. He devoured it!

So
the problem is that he's sick of the Iams Original flavour. That really
sucks because we have one of those big huge gigantic bags of it! And we
bring this food from Canada, aaargh! I guess I'll try to alternate

bowls
of
the Original with bowls of the hairball stuff (which I can sometimes

find
here in Thailand). Hopefully after a bit of a layoff from the Original,
he'll go back to it.
So this evening, he stalked down a lizard. Dennis kept trying to

distract
him, it worked at first but then he caught on to Dennis' trickery and

gave
him a dirty look before ignoring him. He ended up precariously

balancing
on
the back of a chair and leaping to the top of a shelf, from which he
attacked the lizard and caught it. He jumped down from the shelf and
proceeded to devour the lizard, much to mine and Dennis' dismay. We

cannot
believe that our spoiled rotten cat would prefer lizard over imported
Iams!!!

you need to put up a warning sign by the door for those poor lizards! You
think Iams does lizard flavour?

about the dry food, you suppose it could have gotten dry? well, that

sounded
clever ... I mean, even dry food does have some moisture when it's fresh,
but if it's been out in the air for some time it will get really dry and
stop smelling. have you tried to moisten it a bit to bring out the
flavour/smell?

scritches to Vino!

Hmmm, well, I have a big airtight plastic bin that it's in, to keep the ants
out and to keep it fresh. I'll try to add some water next time if he still
won't eat it. I'd hate to waste a big bag of food like that.
It seems that lizard doesn't agree with him too well either though. This
morning I came downstairs and there was a puddle of puke in the hallway :-(

The "hunt" probably means a lot, too -- how about tossing dry Iams for him
to chase down and eat? I do that sometimes with my 5 and it's pretty fun
for them and funny to watch!

LOL! You're such a good catslave, Christine! Nikki tosses her food around
herself sometimes, just so she can "hunt" it down. Of course, she gets wet
food, so this is not so nice as it may sound. I get little bits of wet food
stuck to the walls all around the cats' eating place.

No success. I chucked the kibble down the hall, Vino watched then yawned
and lay down next to his empty bowl. Spoiled brat!
