Default Eye purrs, please

Mine howse could use some eye-related purrs.

First, mine doggy-cousin Pearl Mae (she lives wif mine Unka Pat) has low
retinal pressure an da TED is worried about it. Her has to go see a
special eye-TED next week an her could use some purrs dat efurryfink is
all right.

Den, in June, mineown Meowmie is going to da hoomin eye-TED to have her
eyes surged. Her has cataracts, and da surgeon is to surge dem away. We
is hopin dat Meowmie's eyes will work betterer after dat, so we would
like to ask fur some eye purrs fur Meowmie too.

Fangu.

Human note: My elderly Mother had cataract surgery done some years ago,
and it is very, very simple, now.

They make a small slit, and use an ultrasonic tool to break up the
original lens, and remove it.

Then, they implant a new lens, at the same time. It is a very quick and
easy procedure.

There will be some light sensitivity for a few days, and minor
discomfort.

My Mother's vision had marked improvement, after the surgery. She was
very pleased to be able to see so much better.

Cataracts slowly rob your vision over time, and you tend to adapt to the
vision loss, until it gets pretty bad.

She did have to get new glasses, because of the new lenses, but she was
told that in advance.

I hope something can be done for Pearl Mae's eyes.

I have heard of high intra ocular pressure (glaucoma) but never low
pressure.

Before Kenzie went to the Bridge, she had a slow growing melanoma in her
left eye, and she had to be checked annually by a veterinary
ophthalmologist. It was fairly expensive, unfortunately.

Does your meowmie need a Caretaking Kitty from the Catmerica Volunteer
Nurses Corps to teleport over and take care of her after the eye
surgery? Miss Tina Marie of the Maine Coon Patrol and I are both
free.
