I really like living here, but when I hear of the options available in
some areas I wish we had them here

Steve Touchstone,

I agree completely.

I know they were dumped. I also know whoever dumped them drove up our lane

to
the house to do so. We're too far off the road for such tiny kittens to

get
here by themselves. I got pictures of the little urchins. Look how little

they
are.

I am so angry and frustrated. I went outside this a.m. and heard a funny sound,
looked around, and there are TWO kittens in the flowerbed. They are both gray.
One is longhaired. They look to be in good shape, except for fleas, ticks and
stickers, and are *very* well socialized.
Remember the closest house to me is 1/2 mile and I already know they didn't
come from there. Somebody deliberately brought them up the drive and dumped
them, probably last night.
I can't keep them. I can't really even take them to the shelter and expect them
to be adopted any time soon. They have 90 cats already and are about to cull
and take some to the city pound for euthanasia.
They're so cute. It's so sad.

Sherry

This reminds me of another sad story.
One time last year I went to the cat hospital (a vets office that
specializes in only cats) to get some food for "The Boys" and there in
one of the holding cages was a beautiful Siamese cat about 3 or 4
years old just sitting there with that forlorn and scared look, I call
it the "shelter look" on her face. While I was waiting for the
assistant to get my purchases I asked about the cat. The receptionist
said that the cat was on the front doorstep in a carrier when she got
to work in the morning. No note, nothing. I felt so sorry for the cat.
I wanted to take her home, but with three of my own I just could not
do it.
So Sherry, I know how you feel. It is sad. I just wish people would
take some more responsibilities for their actions. I know that when I
got Figaro that I was making a long term commitment to him and to
myself for his well being and care even if he does not sit on my lap
anymore.
I wish you the best with the little ones and that you can find them a
home together.

awww such little darlings. Hard to believe someone would dump them,
especially since you said in the earlier post that they were well
socialized.

I always wonder how long these people expect the animals, especially
the kittens and puppies, they dump to survive. Course sometimes they
just don't care, but at least this time they brought them up to the
house instead of just throwing them out a window - which sometimes
happens.

In my mind I see Mom or Dad getting tired of hooligan kittens starting
to climb out of the basket and doing what all kittens do. Mom or Dad
hauls off and dumps the kittens, while little Bobby, Suzi, or
whatever, frantically search for the kittens. Course my imagination
could be all wrong, but that's the scenario that's stuck in my head.
