What an absolutely wonderful and brave cat! I loved the way that when the
dog backed off the cat chased it away then went back to the little boy.
Who says cats don't love their humans?

It's made the news over here. I saw it this morning on the BBC news and
when I told them at work about it, one of the girls got it up on youtube
on her phone and we all watched it. It's been on news again tonight so
I've recorded it as it shows the cat attacking the dog in slow motion.

I think the cat is called Tara and she took all the attention in such a
laid back way.

I watched this on the news and just knew that this dog was going to attack
this child. I love dogs but I hope this one went to the bridge immediately.
It's very sad that some people have dogs that they cannot control or train
because of lack of effort.
I'm not going to say it's easy but I won some obedience things with my dogs
because I made the effort to train them.
It seems to me that some people get a bull breed dog without knowing what it
needs

Considering how some people train their children, is it any surprise
they don't train their animals? And how many in US summer resort areas
get puppies and kittens to amuse the children during the summer, then
abandon them when they return home in the fall? (Just ask my friend in
Northern Minnesota, who has to find homes for a batch of them every
year.) What is that teaching their children about accepting responsibility?

Well, another interpretation might be that the cat was thinking
"bugger off, that's MY dinner"...

Amazingly fast reactions. Just straight into the attack in less
than a second. The dog must have had no idea what hit it.
