Default Cosmo was a bad boy

Well, I can't say I blame him, but it caused me to freak out until I
talked to the vet's office.

Friday, I had my first appointment with my oncologist. When I gave
Cosmo his ear medication before I left, all was fine, as it has been
since his surgery.

Four hours later, by the time I got back home, the little devil had
somehow managed to get rid of that annoying tube in his ear (well, I'm
sure it *is* annoying to him, or I guess I should say *was*).

This was *not* what I needed at that particular time. But, sometimes I
have to set my own pain and difficulty aside when one of my babies needs
me. So I looked carefully at his ear, and both ends where the tube had
been were still open. I called the vet, and talked to Chad (the
sweetest, gentlest vet tech I have ever had the pleasure to know), who
put me on hold to talk to the vet. Somehow, he accidentally hung up on
me. I called back, and he apologized profusely, and said "I hope you're
not mad at me". I said "Yes I am, Chad, and I will be mad at you
forever." Then we both chuckled. At any rate, the vet said as long as
it is still open and still draining and I keep medicating, it should be
fine. I had already planned to have him in on Monday to get the tube
and stitches out anyway, so it's just a matter of a few days. Well, one
day at this point.

I just keep wondering where the tube went. I expect to step on
something icky and squishy and find it. Eventually.

Awww, he just thought you could avoid an expensive vet visit if he
removed the drain himself. He was just trying to help.
