Complaining because . . . ? Not sure what the complaint is about.

I read this newsgroup frequently, and it's helped me over the years as
Shimmy has grown from kitten-hood to her current elder years. Yes,
she keeps a blog, and, yes, I frequently post updates here. The
update most certainly was not "spam":

I'm a member of several newsgroups and listservs in which members post
updates to their blogs using exactly the same language I'm using
he "New on ____ Blog."

If I were an outsider to this group -- or not a cat person -- perhaps
you could say my posting was spam. But this is not the case.

That's not true - I've seen it many times.

I've just googled the name, every single post to this group has been
spamming his/her blog. The reason I didn't remember was that ID was
killfiled until a few days ago when I emptied my killfile. In future I will
be sending acomplaint for each spam post for blogspots.

Thank you, Joyce. Yes, I've posted under " many
times in the past. I've never been accused of "spamming" this group
until Adrian's posting today. As I said in my original reply, this
newsgroup has been a huge help for me as I've raised Shimmy (as have
the various other cat newsgroups on Usenet).

Adrian, before you act as de facto Usenet Spam Enforcer for this
group, why not try a different, more accurate Google search? Instead
of just Googling "shimmykat," which is part of Shimmy's URL for her
blog, why not Google "trigilio" (my last name) and "Shimmy"? You'll
see that I have posted (non-spam by any definition of "spam") on
various Usenet cat groups dating back to November 1994 (three months
after I got Shimmy).

I consider myself part of the Usenet cat community (for lack of better
phrasing). If I were not such a member, then my posting would be
spam. But how can I "spam" a group of which I am a member? I've
never heard of such a thing.

Anyway, if others in this group would like me to stop posting updates
to Shimmy's blog, I will happily do so. I didn't realize I was
causing such concern.

Tony,

I don't mind you posting the updates here. I confess I don't always have
the time to check them out, but sometimes I do. And I think Shimmy is
adorable, so it's always fun to see pictures of her.
