Default (near) Peace at last!!!

Hi folks.

Well, my hopes that bringing a new kitten into the house would promote peace
amongst the felines and canines have proven fruitful!

Moogie and the Moose are best buddies. Moogie will be sleeping somewhere and
I'll come over and give him a kiss. Nothing, not even a twitch. Yet the d*g
comes over and gives him a big sloppy kiss and he starts purring up a storm!
When Moose watches Moogie, her little stub just wiggles like crazy and when
they play together, Moose is very gentle and careful. Unfortunately for the
Moose, the same can't be said of Moogie. Moogie grabs on and bites the
nearest possible appendage. I've heard Moose snarff in pain more than once
from a Moogie bite. They'll share toys and have been found on occasion
taking a little snooze together.

This newfound friendship for the d*g has given Mr. Bob, Patrick and Nancy
some much-needed peace and quiet. Moose rarely chases them anymore so
they've actually begun to spend a lot of time outside of the kitchen,
snuggling with the hoomins and taking advantage of the fuzzy blankets set
out for cold nights. Moose only goes after the cats if she thinks they are
messin' with her kitten. Nine times out of ten it's Moogie started the
fight, but the Moose doesn't care as she barks and chases the offending cat
into the kitchen. How DARE they touch her kitten!

If I want to hear the pitter patter of little feet, I'll put shoes on the
cats!

That's so cute! It must make for a pretty messy social hierarchy when
the smallest furry is under the aegis of the biggest furry!

I think that this is what the Moose longed for all along - for one of
the cats to accept her for her dogginess.

LOL! So glad to hear Moogie has brought some peace and quiet for the other
cats.

Yay!! I always thought Moose was a tyrant toward those poor kitties. So
glad they have a little freedom now.

Sounds like Moogie is indeed a wonderful addition to your family!
