My friend's cat Oberon is very sick - he suddenly lost weight and got
listless and wouldn't eat. He's been in the animal hospital for a few
days, getting biopsies on various suspicious spots (on x-rays) and
internal sores. The vets think he has cancer, but no conclusions yet.
My friend is still waiting for the biopsy results.

Oberon is her favorite among her large brood of cats (7 in all). He's
a Maine Coon, very affectionate, and well-loved by all the cats in the
household, some of whom are pretty scrappy with each other (he's the
peacemaker).

Any well-wishes for him would be appreciated!

Joyce

Purrs on the way for a complete recovery for Oberon.

Many purrs for Oberon, We hope that it turns out to be something manageable
and treatable and not the big C. BTW, very nice name for a cat!

Thank you. I certainly hope that's the case. My friend sounded so
miserable on the phone the other day, telling me about it. This is
someone who doesn't easily show emotion, and she was crying her eyes
out. Pets will bring that out in a person.

Yes, all her cats have cool names. She's the same person who came up
with the name Licorice for my kitty, by the way! (You didn't think
that *I* thought of that, did you? If it had been up to me, I would've
ended up calling him Black Cat or something... )

Purrs for Oberon coming from the Burel kitties. Purrs for his slave, too.

Thanks everyone, for all the purrs and well-wishes! I told my friend
about it, and she was thankful. Will post an update as soon as I have
one.
