I went to get catfood at the vets today and what should be there, only a
week after Nermal's passing, but a dainty little silver tipped persian

for
adoption. Tiny. Tiny, tiny. Like a half grown kitten and HUGE green eyes.
But she is 4 years old. Her owners did not want to deal with her tail
sucking.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I read that they gave her up because of
"tail sucking."

TAIL SUCKING?!!!

sigh

If she was with someone who understood her a little better, maybe she
will stop the tail sucking. Purrs for her to find a real home.

That was my thought.

What a rotten thing to do -- to give up a cat for something as minor as
"tail sucking!" Fortunately, this cat sounds so pretty (and so unusual)
that I am sure she will be adopted...and it sounds like she will be much
better off to be out of that environment.

She sounds adorable, but I'm about 900 miles away and must pay extra rent per
pet. Tail sucking even sounds kinda cute.

Sammy sucks her tail, her paws, Bandit's tail, my neck, whatever is in
reach when she feels the need for comfort (I can always tell when she
is going to start sucking, she snuggles up to me and starts purring
REALLY loudly, the little tongue comes out in the "down" position, and
she starts smacking away).

I can't imagine wanting to "get rid" of her because of this, and I
wouldn't even consider putting her on medication to stop this (would
you "get rid" of, or dope up a child for sucking his thumb??!!?). Of
course, my husband claims we always end up with "defective" cats - he
is just kidding - Bandit is psycho kitty from hell, Demi is the
original scaredy cat, Jessie is hyperactive, and Sammy sucks!

But I feel about cats the same way I feel about kids, once they're
there, they're there for life, faults and all.

Hugs,
