Thank you. That's what I was asking.

We (in the US) only use the word "cyclone" to mean a tornado. I don't
think it has anything to do with the direction it rotates, though. Just
another linguistic difference, like many others.

A category 5 hurricane/cyclone is indeed pretty intense - I'm glad
everyone's all right!!

Sorry for not replying to everyone....power dropped out as I was writing!!
It's been on and off a bit, so thanks to everyone who sent purrs!! It made
me feel heaps better
