I don't agree. The "worth" of Bill Gates is easily estimatible into the
billions, for instance. You're talking money, which is an artifice. I'm talking real "worth." He and GWB are worth no more than any of the other six billion plus human beings. But an interesting insight into what people think "worth" means. Sad. I was taking the literal sense of the sentence. If you don't think the worth of the President of the United States is more than one endangered animal, then you need to rethink the whole premise. I don't think anyone is missing the dodo bird right about now. While I am not in favor of extincting animals, I place more value on a human being's life. I am not a secularist. What I think is sad is some people being more concerned w/ animal's than themselves or others. |

Powdered Cellulose:
"Purified mechanically disintegrated cellulose prepared by processing alpha cellulose obtained as a pulp from fibrous plant materials. A fancy term for wood. Dried wood is cleaned and processed into a fine powder and used to add bulk and consistency to cheap pet foods." ________ Where did you get this info from, hmm?? I thought I should lump you in w/ Liz, but I thought I would let you do it yourself. Turns out I was right. |

From: Phil P. ) Subject: What is the best food for my cat? Newsgroups: rec.pets.cats.health+behav What most of us are unaware of is that the pet food industry is an extension of the human food industry, also known as the agriculture industry. Pet food provides a place for slaughterhouse waste and grains considered "unfit for human consumption" to be turned into profit. This waste includes cow tongues, esophagi, and possibly diseased and cancerous meat. The "whole grains" used have had the starch removed and the oil extracted -- usually by chemical processing -- for vegetable oil, or they are the hulls and other remnants from the milling process. Four of the five major pet food companies in the United States are subsidiaries of major multinational food production companies: Colgate-Palmolive (Hills Science Diet Pet Food), Heinz (9 Lives, Amore, Gravy Train, Kibbles n Bits, Recipe, Vets), Nestle (Alpo, Fancy Feast, Friskies, Mighty Dog) and Mars (Kal Kan, Mealtime, Pedigree, Sheba). _________________________________________________ _________________ How odd this post is of Phil's! He actually made sense! I wonder what happened between then and now that Phil is such a proponent of Hill's? He's a printer, right? Maybe he's doing print work for Hill's or something, LOL Lauren ________ See my cats: http://community.webshots.com/album/56955940rWhxAe Raw Diet Info: http://www.holisticat.com/drjletter.html http://www.geocities.com/rawfeeders/ForCatsOnly.html Declawing Info: http://www.wholecat.com/articles/claws.htm |
