Default Purrs for the family of a d-thing

My friend's old beagle, Gizzy, has been sick recently. He basically
waited until His Boy came home for a visit from college, then they had
to take him to the emergency vet last night. The vets think it's liver
cancer. Gizzy is almost 15 years old and has a good happy life.

My friend says that he's going to be wrapped up in the blanket that I
made for him so he'll always be warm and cozy.

*sniff* He was a good boy.

Purrs on the way. I still miss my dog Sampson (RB 1999). He lived just a
few months shy of 18 years.

Well, big SHOCK time.....Gizzy's okay, at least for now.

The vet says that it looks like just a bad infection! Argh.
She had to do a bunch of other things, but the subq fluids
and antibiotics did the trick. It looks like Gizzy's going
to be with us for awhile longer.

Whew. I'm exhausted now.

I'm so glad Gizzy's okay for now.
Purrs lovingly sent from our house for Gizzy to keep feeling better and
a BIG HUG for you. Get some rest.

I'm so sorry - sending purrs for their family.

I'm glad to read this, even before I had a chance to reply. Hope he
gets over the infection; I'm sure he doesn't like it.

It is so nice that most of us on the cat newsgroups are d*g friendly.
The d*g newsgroups have been rendered uninhabitable, for the most
part.

Another update: Gizzy has been sent to the Rainbow Bridge.
He got sick again tonight and went immediately to the emergency
vet, and the initial diagnosis was true - it was liver cancer, and it
was
BAD, all through his body. His eyes turned yellow. Once again, my
friend was certain that he just waited until His Boy came home so he
could see him one last time.

*sniff* He was an adorable old beagle. Now he's cavorting with
my friend's father and mother and being spoiled stupid while he
waits for the rest of his family.
