lol! I suspect Barnabus would do that. Hobbes definitely has been
guilty of tasting food on the stove when he was a young, spry kitten.
Fortunately I have an electric stove so I don't have to worry about
pilot lights burning him but I have a fear of a cat on the stove
somehow tuning the stove on and burning paws. When I realized Hobbes
would jump onto the stove to taste dinner I started putting pans of
food in the oven or microwave while we ate. Like everyone that has
responded, unless it has a lot of hair in it I'll eat after my cats.
Barnabus is the only one I have to think twice about. He likes to
taste food first by putting his paw in it and licking the food off his
paw. I have some trouble thinking about the paw that had recently
been in the litterbox dipping into my ice cream.

I still think about that time Hobbes made a mess of the coffee
machine, and I used to wonder if I had to watch my kitties while I was
making coffee, but they run away at the sound of the coffee grinder,
so I seem to be safe.

Caught red-pawed!

A year or so ago, DH left some bratwurst on the counter to cool.
Typically Oscar doesn't get up on the counter (while we're home), and
anyway, bratwurst?

Came downstairs some time later and found bite marks in all three brats.
Just on the ends. She apparently didn't like them, but took care to
sample all three, just in case.

DH was not amused. I was. (I'm sure the fact that I'm not crazy
about bratwurst is irrelevant.)

Thanks for the laugh!
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek
