Thanks! Yeah, they're all cursing me right now. They seem to come in
three's ya know? Shadow had to go in tonight for his "shave and
squeeze" and he's a little uncomfortable tonight. I wish he could be
up for the surgery to remove those nasty anal sacs. Shamrock is all
broken out and miserable and mean; to the vets for a depo shot
tomorrow for him. Hopefully that will be it for a while.

Aww, when it rains it pours. Many purrs to you, Cheryl, for all the vetting
(and the bills!).

She got her shots yesterday, and yesterday was fine. Today, though,
she is very lethargic and not eating. She's eaten a few pieces of dry
food (maybe a couple of mouthfuls all day) but she's usually very
piggy. I know this happens, and it happened to Shadow the last time
he got shots which is partly why he's not having any more. She was
sort of hiding this morning, but tonight she was laying at my feet,
still not eating. From now on she will get her shots spaced out
rather than all at once. I knew that was a bad idea and didn't go
with what I know.

Poor Bonnie, purrs on the way.

Actually, what is blamed for the VAS is not the vaccine itself, but the
coadjuvant. So, the less often you vaccinate your cat, the better off
she'll be.

I think this is one discussion where the jury is still out.
There are vets on both sides of the argument on 3 yr v. annual rabies
vaccines.
I understand the arguments on both sides. I also do not believe that
the 3 yr. has not been out long enough for a long term study on the
side effects of the vaccine, shot, coadjvuant or whatever.
Right now I am just going to go by what "the boys'" doctor recommends.
She is highly respected and keeps up with the current information that
is out there.
I have learned through bitter personal experience not to second guess
a doctor. (another long story)
Thank you all for your input.

Aw - poor Bonnie. We just went through that with Chester too. He's usually
down for the count for days but this time we had a small dose of prednisone
with the shots and he was only down for 24 hours. Popped right back up
afterwards, thank goodness. I hate to see them feeling crummy like that.

Hope she's back to her old self shortly.
