"That sounds like fun. I've never been up the high". Lucy Lu checks
the batteries in her camera and puts an extra set in her pocket.

I yam game tu go tu da top inna ellybator.
I woodint wanna klime dat fur on da stayerz.
Iz dere uh cafe part wayz goin deown?
I tink dat Sunnydance wyll be hongree by den.

[Archibald leads the kitties and dogs to a hidden entrance at the base
of the arch. When he presses a button a door whooshes open, revealing a
large, well-lit elevator car. Everybody boards, and he presses a button
labeled "Top". The elevator ascends smoothly, and in moments the doors
open onto a luxurious carpeted viewing area.

A buffet table lines the western wall, with a large selection of snacks.
Roast beast, turkey, salmon, ear of sooven, and Fancy Feast area
available, as well as many yummy-looking deserts.

"Please, help yourselves to the buffet! And please notice that towards
the north end of the observation platforms are some telescopes available
for anyone who might be interested. You can see well into Illinois, as
well as a lot of Missouri. And there is always a lot of interesting
stuff going on below us on the Mississippi River. If anyone has any
questions about the Arch or it's history, I'd be glad to answer them."

Thank you Archibald says Mosey.
yeUP, we are all very hungry and the buffet looks yummy.
We will look through the telescope when have finished eating.
This is so much fun. yeUP

[Amelia loads up a plate until it's about to spill over, then while she
munches on turkey and rast beast and lopster she ask Archibald some
questions.]

So, Archibald, down below you said that contraction took two years. How
wide is this top section? It's wider than I expected. And wide are the
legs near the bottom?

Archibald: Well, this top part is 17 feet wide, and down at the bottom
the legs are 54 feet wide. Between the steel and the concrete, this
whole thing weighs more than 17,000 tons!

Harri, muttering softly: Huh, that's even more than Amelia weighs.

Mosey laughs out loud at what Harri said about Amelia' weight .

Samwise gets a plate and takes a little of everything to snack on.
Lucy Lu is more interested in looking at the sights with a telescope.
"I have a question but, not about the arch. What kind of ships are on
the Mississippi river?"

Lucy Lu

Cash-pup takes a look. "The big ones are mostly transport shippies
anna have the paerts dey lift ona big trucks ur trains. Dem midle
ones
wif verandas, are cruise boats. Da ones dat look liek houses, are
houses! Dez called house-boats. Anna da bitty ones? Theze fishin
boats!"

Cash wanders over and snags a plate and starts loading up while Iowna
sniffs and selects with a smaller plate. Predominate on the plates is
good fresh Mississippi catfish. Daisy-chan goes for catfish and
crawdads.

Pi2önya sprinkles sum catnip and dognip on da water,
hoepin tu catsh sum catfish an dogfish.
In da meentyme shee taykes sum souven eers.

Yes, that's right! And those low, flat ones that look sort of like
squashed cans are barges, and the boats that push or pull them are tug
boats. Those tug boats are mostly engine! They're very powerful.

Because of the way the tower is aligned, it's not possible to see to the
north or south with the telescopes. But we have telescopes mounted
outside feeding video screens, so you can look through them that way.
This screen here is connected to the north camera, and this one to the
south camera. You can point them and focus them with these joysticks.

Using the north camera, you can see the Mississippi River here, and the
Missouri River here, and here is where they come together. And from this
altitude you can see a secret campground, only accessible to kitties and
there guests. No humans have ever seen it! Yes, there it is. And if we
zoom in a little - yep, there we are. Those two big RVs just pulling in?
Those kitties and doggies were up here visiting just before you folks.

If you are looking for a place to spend the night, I highly recommend
that campground. It's really beautiful! But around sunset it tends to
have LOTS of mosquitos, so be sure to take plenty of bug repellant.

What does every one think about staying in the campground tonight? "It
sound like a good spot to me. Maybe we'll got to meet the other kitties
and doggies that Archibald said were here." Lucy Lu is thinking that the
FBI and police were looking for big RV's. They can't be the ones, can they.

[Amelia, having hoovered up all the food on her plate, stifles a burp.]

That sounds like a good idea to me. I haven't been camping in a long
time. In fact, I think I'm about ready to head that way. How about
everybody else? Archibald, thank you for a truly wonderful tour! ANd
that buffet was wonderful. If you get an opportunity, you're welcome to
pay us a visit at the campground. I believe Fluffy Kitz stocked up the
fridges in the RVs, so we can offer you a nice little dinner tonight.
