Default Hidden treasure

Whenever we get any extra money, it seems that the resident gremlins throw
the dice or whatever and the one who wins gets to break something.
So, last Friday I got a paycheck for my temp job, and yesterday Jim called
me at work and said the stove quit.
In an effort to find out what was the problem, he and a friend moved the
stove away from the wall.
Underneath were 19 plastic lids from those single serving size yogurt
containers and a bird feather.
Sigh.

Yes, regularly.
Usually the breaking of something occurs when Jim is gone and I have to
deal with it. I think he used to wonder if I was some kind of a
destructive person.
Now that he's home all the time, the gremlins had to try a new twist.
They waited until I was working, and then he has to deal with it this time.
Ironically, the cost of a new equivalent stove would just about equal my
paycheck. We decided to call a repair person and see if the stove can be
repaired. Of course, Jim will be the one to sit around all day Friday and
wait for the repair person.
Fortunately, we have a microwave so he had my dinner ready today when I got
home and can have my dinner ready when I get home tomorrow (Thursday). (heh,
heh)
Also, on the bright side, there were no bugs, dead or otherwise behind the
stove.
Just the cats' stash of lids and a feather.

My month has included the breaking of:

VCR
One hearing aid
Two vehicle transmissions
Battery on van

and the list goes on..... tonight I came home to a call on the machine
wondering why my October rent isn't paid. Well, let me tell you the list.
