You can't "scroll past" without ignoring the whole thread (which has had some legitimate articles in it). Maybe your newsreader is different from mine - I simply scroll past the signatures of posters I find offensive, then "mark thread read" when I've seen the posts I want to read. Firstly, I normally read with threads in collapsed view, so I can see in advance what the subject is but not who's posting each individual message within the thread. Expanding the thread to get messages listed individually slows down the process. (This is on MT-NewsWatcher for the Mac, but other newsreaders work the same way, starting with "trn" for Unix back in the 1980s). Secondly, I don't find your posts in general offensive, just the ones where you repeat what trolls have written. If I had a general problem with your posts I'd have killfiled you already. I would rather not do that. ==== j a c k at c a m p i n . m e . u k === http://www.campin.me.uk ==== Jack Campin, 11 Third St, Newtongrange EH22 4PU, Scotland == mob 07800 739 557 CD-ROMs and free stuff: Scottish music, food intolerance, and Mac logic fonts |
