"Meghan Noecker" wrote in message ... On Thu, 7 Apr 2005 01:11:25 -0400, "Mary" wrote: Very cool! Are they canned green beans? It's kind of funny, do dogs usually eat green beans? Yes, I get teh french style as they take her longer to eat. And no salt added since the salt is bad for her heart. I stock up on the sales. Last November, they went on sale for 33 cents a can (normally $1.19), and I managed to get 62 cans during the sale. I had 12 left when they went on sale again. I got another 60 cans. So, I am good to go for awhile. Your prices are close to what they are here. 33 cents is a great deal. Jenny loves them. She gets excited when we fix up her bowl, and it takes her awhile to slurp them down. We also put a few in the other dogs bowl. She isn't overweight as she is much more active, but it doesn't hurt. The other dog also gets a bone for breakfast and some kibble as a snack at night. Jenny does get a very small amount of canned cat food at night - I let her lick the can from the cats, and I leave a little in it. The hard part is trying to give treats to skinny Maynard as chubby Jenny is no dummy. She knows when I am looking to see if she is around. Then she goes just around the corner, or into one of my blind spots. She listens intently, and if she hears food hit the floor, she races in to catch me in the act. Then I have to give her a bite. If only I could teach Maynard to shut up and not make so much noise when he wants a treat. Aren't they amazing that way? Last night Cheeks was in a deep sleep at dinner time so I fed Buddha and waited on Cheeky's. Then she woke up and no matter how quietly I did it, when the saucer hit the counter Buddha was there looking at me. I am NOT supposed to give one of them something without giving the other something! It's against the rules! |

"Phil P." wrote in message ... "Alison" wrote in message ... "Phil P." wrote in message ... "Alison" wrote in message BTW , you mentioned some facts earlier on in the thread .Could you back them up for me with proof, please? TIA Alison I've asked you a few times how do you know if your cat has difficulty urinating or defecating , or bloody urine or diarrhea, or polyuria, or a urinary tract obstruction, if your cat eliminates outdoors, but you, nor any other outdoor proponent hasn't answered this simple question. So, how do you know? You've not actually asked me that The same way as you do by observation. So you follow your cat around outside to watch her eliminate and then quickly examine the urine for blood and crystals before it soaks into the ground? Okey dokey. Thanks for the explanation. If a cat has diahrrea or straining to poo or wee, it will be doing that inside as well as outside. I see. Even if the cat has been trained to eliminate outdoors? Cats that have UTI pee on plastic , in baths etc regardless or whether they have outside access or not . Actually, most cats with urinary tract infections don't display any symptoms at all. Cats with FIC, urolithiasis/urinary tract obstruction and crystalluria do. But you still wouldn't see them if the cat is used to and trained to eliminate outdoors. The fact of the matter is you simply cannot monitor an outdoor cat's elimination behavior as readily and accurately as an indoor cat's. Phil, please do not confuse Alison with facts. For here they are just things to slide by using sleazeball distraction tactics. The fact is, she doesn't care. They must be FWEE. |

Assley and Alison live in urban areas. And Mathew Kagis lives in British Columbia, where people out walking regularly get attacked by wild cats. But stay on the safe side. That way people won't dislike you for telling the truth. I said urban areas anywhere are not safe for cats to be outdoors, as well as rural areas with known predators. It makes me cringe when people post on RPCA about their cats getting in fights, or they haven't seen their indoor/outdoor cat in days, or the cat came home injured, etc. That to me says there is a known danger in that area and the cat should be inside. But, like I said before, I can't take the stand that *all* cats *everywhere* should be indoor-only. There are safe, low-traffic, predator-free areas, I just haven't lived in one. -- -Kelly kelly at farringtons dot net "Wake up, and smell the cat food" -TMBG |

I am vaguely aware of them being mentioned on the news occasionally, but I have never heard of one mentioned anywhere else such as work. And while there were some threats with the Space Needle and the New Year's party, there was still a huge crowd there. I'm sure things vary around the country, but the only real mention of 911 around here is the financial problems with the airline industry. Boeing took a huge hit, and that affects a lot of people around here. I am curious though. Why would somebody be afraid to help you move because of a higher level threat? Was there a local target? Meghan: You and Diane are a great example of what I mean.... Diane was very aware of the alerts & was affected by them. You, only vaguely so. Yet, you were instantly curious about the 'threat' that affected Diane. You mentioned two specific 'threats' that you have been aware of. The constant 'threats' have caused concern & talk where Diane works..... A constant atmosphere of: Threat... That has to have an effect on the mood in the USA. The feeling of always being under seige. I just can't see how it's good for your country.... Sure is good for military spending, though. Jesus. You wish. Do you really think this half-baked effort at determining "mass psychology" has any validity at all? Before this it was the Cold War and Nuclear Holocaust. It's always something. |

"Just Conservative" wrote in message ... Mary said "Just Conservative" On Thu, 7 Apr, Mary said "-L." wrote American Sheeple are just too stupid to understand This has been documented many times. Many times. Which of course, is why Bush's lies worked so well on ignorant Americans. They had no context. This is all true. But your good Bud Lynnie here is a socialist, Mr. Conservative. Egads! Run and hide! Why are Americans such a frightened, and also; such a xenophobic lot? I'm not afraid of Socialists. I keep pointing that out because I find it hilarious. Key word: USSR. Both communism and socialism are failed experiments. So is democracy so far. All three are perfect only in theory. I pointed Lynnie's political persuasions out to you because you pronounce your "conservatism" just as she announces her "socialism." Two clues for you: a condescending tone alone does not get you far with anyone over the age of 7. And if you are a "conservative" who likes "socialists" you are really a liberal! Just trying to help. (Meanwhile, I rarely talk about my own political stance outside the political groups I participate in, and my circle of friends and family, and I sure don't do it in a cat group. |

What I don't understand is people who live in cram-packed suburban or urban neighborhoods and still let their cats outside. To me, THAT is insane. Or conversely, a rural area with predators lurking. -- -Kelly I imagine no rural area is completely without predators of some kind. You just have to get to know your predators. I know there are coyotes here, because I hear them at night. However, I've never seen one in the daytime, and I've lived here practically my whole life. Owls are another night-time hunter. Never seen an opossum or raccoon in the daytime either. That's why no cat, ever, ever, IMO should be out at night. This is way OT, but the only critter who ambles right up to the front door in the daytime is an armadillo. He is quite tame and seems to like me. (yeah, I know better, but it *seems* that way). He sniffs my shoes, and I give him a good talking-to about digging up my flower bed. I think I might be the next armadillo whisperer. Sherry |

As are (most) of the British. Bush will be gone shortly and when he is a Democrat will come in and undo what he has done. I know you've seen it many times. It's a swinging pendulum. It is actually one of the better things about the checks and balances system in democratic governments. What is scary: if the Democrats miscalculate the power of the religious right and other strong Befublican backers, and we get another right-wing extremist Republican in the White House. But then again, even three terms of them (Reagan twice then Daddy Bush) did not keep President Clinton from turning some things around again. Example: the deficit. |

Alison Hahahahaha! Bimbo! That's our Mary I said "Van den Bos and de Cock Buning are British. Okay! " because you told me they were so that's *your* claim they are British. Looks like I not the Bimbo here. Alison Are you sure that's what I said? I need documentation. And did you mean Hans Van den Bos or Andre Van den Bos? hahahahaha! Idiot. |
