UB ~ The *only* time Onyx will EVER growl at a hooman bean is when he's
getting his nails trimmed. Poor guy ABSOLUTELY HATES IT... and there's
just something strange about a domesticated CAT growling. It just
doesn't sound right. D*gs?? I understand the growling "thing".
Domesticated CATS, though, OTOH??? Doesn't make sense to me in the
slightest... and it sounds REALLY freaky, to boot. See, with d*gs, all
growls do not always escalate to "an attack", so to speak, IMHO, but
when ONYX *growls*, that's a HUGE sign to back the **ll away from him
and give him his space, because he WILL lash out at you.

I currently have a litter of meezer kittens who all growl...they have
favourite toys, usually mice or hubby's socks, and grab them in their jaws,
growling and staring balefully at the nearest adult cat, as if daring them
to try and snatch their 'prey'....the adults totally ignore them, which
drives the kittens nuts; they edge closer and closer, growling more and
more, until they get a reaction....sooo funny!! And very strange to hear
cats growl, I agree!!
