Thank you, Gennie. I think the closest the fire got to me is about 5 miles
away. I've been smelling smoke for two days, the sky is full of smoke, and
all day today I could hear planes and helicopters, but I haven't really been
in danger.

The firefighters have done an amazing job in saving homes. Although over
2,400 acres have burned, only two houses have been lost. One part of the
fire came within a mile of the apartment building where one of my friends
lives. He watched as the firefighters kept it from coming any closer.

Thanks, Adrian. I think we're completely out of danger now. The closest it
got to me was about 5 miles away.
