They don't know for sure if it's the gluten. They are only speculating at
this point. I wouldn't depend on a product not containing gluten to
determine if it's safe to use.

It's true that they don't have a definitive answer as yet -- but, so far,
gluten *seems* to be the common ingredient. We all need to keep a close eye
on things, but it seems safest at this point to at least avoid products that
contain gluten (and with Menu Foods as the manufacturer, even though the
actual source may be the new supplier they used).

Is anyone else still feeding with canned Fancy Feast? I haven't
seen it on the recall list, but I stopped using it yesterday -
just in case. Seems like they are adding to the list all the
time.

However, every time I go to feed the kitty with hard food he
goes to the cupboard that the canned food is in and just stands
there looking at me.

FF hasn't been implicated in any of this yet, so I'm still feeding
it. I try to limit the cans that contain wheat gluton, but mine
really like the shredded variety that uses wheat gluton to thicken
the gravy. No problems here. They also eat Pro Plan chicken and
rice that contains wheat gluton about once a week, and no problems
here. Same, ditto, Friskies Prime Filets Chicken or Turkey.

Lilith Kitten-Mahoney has been getting her daily ration of Fancy Feast, and
has not fallen ill. My mom, a retired vet assistant, has been watching her
very carefully.

However, every time I go to feed the kitty with hard food he goes to
the cupboard that the canned food is in and just stands there looking
at me.

Last I heard (approximately 3 hours ago) Fancy Feast is NOT affected.
