Kitty Schottland's Fourteenth Purr Day
Oh meow goodnesses! I was so busy worrying about Valentine's Day, and what I
was going to get the PawPaw, that I forgot to announce mine own Purr Day. It was yesfurday, on Valentine's Day. I'm fourteen years old now. I've been with Meowmie Debby, GranMeowmie, and the PawPaw for almost half my life. Won't you all join me in celebrating? The Claddagh is uniquely Irish. Originally created as a ring, claddaghs are
now found on necklaces (like yours, dear Kitty) bracelets and other items. Comprised of two hands holding a crowned heart, the heart symbolizes love, the hands symbolize friendship, and the crown symbolizes loyalty and fidelity. They originally were "peculiar" to the west counties (the Galway area) but are now claimed by all Irish. The rings are frequently used as wedding rings and are passed down from parent to child.
