Reese's candy? Is that like their peanut butter cups? We don;t get
them over here that often but when I see them I grab them. I'm really

Just got off the tv:
Casey A outa the slammer in FL. That link is hysterical: I guessed
petard was some kinda sexy short
pants....instead, like you said....it's an early *bomb*. Also means in
french "flatulate". Learned a new
word tonight.
On the deck, Snaggly was chasing and capturing small tree parts and
branches, when I went out there
and yelled at him, he shot inside with a bunch of leaves on a twig
which he proceeded to *eat* all
the leaves off the twig. Again, I told him he's a silly animal. Wind
was frisky and knocking little pieces
of those two big trees onto our deck. This time he was not mad that I
yanked him back inside as a
thunderbolt just about knocked him off his feet behind the slider
doors. Good lesson for cat brain.
I'm glad you ate some good stuff later. I guess you know some of us,
under unhappy happenings,
eat *more* instead of losing appetite, LOL. I would have to be really
hard up to munch on a leafy
twig like Snag but at least it was easy to capture, unlike his hail
bugs yesterday, they keep melting.

According to the news, your area is still having hail storms!!! Hope
Snaggley is safely inside. The weather here has been beautiful for two
days (that makes a total of about 6 "spring" days so far. Rain
expected for the next two
days then summer(?) will be in full force. Did you see the story of
the cat that fell 20 stories.? Give Snag a pet from me and a purr from
TuTu. MLB

Yep, the same thing - I ended up eating about 10 or 15 last night -
almost the whole bag. I haven't weight myself this morning but going to
do that now. 96.4 - last night it was 100.6. If I could figure out a
way to stay up all night and eat I'd be doing OK! ;

Yeah, the hail every day has done quite a number of damage on not only
vehicles here, but planes at DIA
(delaying flights mainly on Frontier, them animals on the tails took
quite a beating lately) and certain homes
in direct path of the storms, which where I am rarely is. Don't worry
about Snaggly falling off deck: I have many
of those Oriental fiber mats for beach/sand sunning woven and stapled
to the guard rails, which are about 5
inches apart all around deck. I put those over (on inside) and woven
through the rails in and out on corners
so cats would not take a 38-foot drop by accident chasing something on
deck. As long as Snag has his deck
chair and the cool outdoor carpet to snooze on, he can jump as high as
he wants chasing airborne stuff; the
deck rails are chest-high on me. Also, we are totally invisible to
passing sidewalk and street traffic below.
I don't let him out there, however, when lightning strikes going on
nearby; spending most of life in south FL
I know how unpredictable any lightning is. I left the sliders open and
was gone longer than planned yesterday.
Glad you have better weather in SLC at least for awhile. I was there a
long time ago and thought it was one
of the prettiest, if not *the* prettiest cities I ever saw (I was
there in month of July).

When I had my supposed heart attack last August (which was actually just
a blood clot in the left ventricle caused by this freakish genetic
defect) they did a heart catheter (don't let them fool you, it hurts
like hell and you have to lie still for over an hour afterwards and
they *WON'T* give you even a Valium to ease the stress and pain!!!!).
They said my arteries were like those of a young teen (not a teen
now-a-days who often have clogged arteries) - perfectly clear of plaque.
One of the side effects, I guess, of being a dancer for the first 24
years of my life and very athletic ever since then, even though I've had
my battle with overweight. My cholesterol and triglycerides and all
those other things are in the very low normal. My only problems with my
blood work, now, are protein deficiency (I'm not even anemic even though
I take iron - that's mostly to help me stop losing hair). For someone
on the brink of death, I'm remarkably healthy!!! ;

Anyway, with the need to gain weight, with the caveat that I eat lots of
"good" protein, the nutritionist said I could pretty much eat whatever I
want to (which is good because I seldom have any appetite at all and
could go for days without eating if it weren't for things that tempt my
taste buds).

CatNipped

I got a couple suggestions, not serious heads-up this time: one
healthy protein possibility
and one unhealthy sweet goody you might not have noticed in grocery
store......I believe I
read quite awhile ago that you don[t like eggs very much; forget hard-
boiled eggs, but if you
feel like making minimal prep for something good with protein in
kitchen, boil eggs and go off
while they cook, cool with cold water and concoct your very own
special *deviled* egg mix
and restuff the sliced egg halves. My version is heavy on mustard (I
hate mayo, only use for
it to me is to hold stuff together, but if you like lotsa mayo or NO
mustard, go wild.
Second suggestion is something I have seen shopping with a pal for
quite a while now: it is tucked
in around the yogurt or cream cheese especially in refrig area of
store. At first sight (not recently)
the plastic container was going for almost $8 (!) but the other day we
saw it again for less than $4.
My pal stops dead in her tracks and salivates and begs me to tell her
not to give in and buy it; this
is futile unless I fuss with one mantra only, "You quit smoking; that
is much harder than passing this
up, so suck it in and keep going: you do NOT want to get hooked on
this stuff!" So far that works.
I say futile otherwise as an argument to her as she is well aware that
I hate cheesecake in all its
forms. Check it out: round plastic large container of "cheesecake
filling" (I have no idea what one
does with it unless dump it into a cake mix) and I guarantee you it is
probably loaded with calories
for possible weight gain on your part.
Skipping meals on a continued basis is a good way (not snark) to
negate anything you consumed
way back the day before....or worse time lag. I know you know that,
LOL. Cheesecake is very, very
popular here as a dessert; the natives have *no* idea what a NY
cheesecake is like, LOL.

I'm sure you already know this, but you should not weigh yourself at night
if you really want to know if you are gaining or losing weight--the body
fluctuates (sometimes dramatically) simply from food and water consumption.
In your case, that probably builds false hope that will then lead to
depression when you get weighed the next day and find that you "lost" the
weight you thought you had "gained." You should always weigh yourself at
the same time of day, preferably first thing in the morning and wearing the
same clothing (or not) each time.

OMG! Get thee to a new cardiologist, pronto. (If you ever have the
occasion
to need another cath) This is unheard of. I don't consider
myself an expert on *anything*, but I've had at least six caths and
have
never, ever, ever been denied pain/stress relief. I always got a
versed/valium
cocktail for the procedure. They need you to be awake during the
procedure,
but a good cardiologist wants you to be as unstressed as possible.

Anyhoo, here's a link to that high-protein Ensure I told you about;
but it's
probably as sweet and thick as the regular stuff, so you probably
won't
be able to drink it. Boost is really better, more like chocolate milk
(thinner)
and not so vitamin-ey tasting. I just thought of you when I saw this
one
because the package touted wound-healing attributes.

http://www.abbottnutrition.ie/produc...nsure-plus-hp/

The vitamins for your hair. What I bought was Nature's Bounty "Hair,
Skin
and Nails"; it says 50000 mcg Biotin, Collogen, Apha Lipoic Acid,
Calcium
plus the side panel looks much like a regular multivitamin. The label
says Lustrous Hair! Strong Nails! Vibrant Skin!! Hee hee, as if. But I
have
definitely stopped shedding. :-) I was getting really alarmed about
it.
