So sorry for your loss, John. Comforting purrs on the way for you and I'll
light a candle for Katie's safe journey to the Bridge.

Unfortunately, I had to have Katie put to sleep. She turned out to
have cancer that had spread to multiple locations. The vet estimated
that she probably had only two or three more weeks to live. She
didn't appear to currently be in any pain, only weak, but I decided
to spare her the pain that would probably come before the end.

I adopted Katie only about 8 months ago, along with her "adoptive
sister", Cinders. The two cats weren't siblings, but had been
together since Cinders was a young kitten. Cinders is now about 9
years old; Katie was 10. Cinders will now probably search the house
for a while, wondering where Katie went. I knew that adopting older
cats meant that I would have a relatively short time with them, but I
hope that Cinders still has several years of life ahead of her.

So very sorry to hear about Katie. I don't think of 10 years as being
''old'; just mature.

Purrs for Katie and a candle to help her find her way to the Bridge.

BTW: you may ave far moe years with Cinders then just 'several'. My two
RB kitties, Lucky, and Blizzard, lived to 17 and 18 years old,
respectively. I hope Cinders has the good fortune to share her life with
you for *many* years to come.

I am very sorry to read this - we have lit a candle for Katie. I hate
it that you've lost her after such a short time together, and so soon
after losing Annabel Lee. We are sending you big hugs and our most
soothing purrs.

Ah, now I wish I could delete that last post I looked for an update
within your first thread before posting, but didn't see the new one in time.
My sympathies John, you did the right thing for her.

Poor little Katie, I'm so terribly sorry to hear this. Purrs for
her gentle journey to the RB. And purrs for you, John, you've endured
so much heartbreak this past year or so, with the fire, your health,
your job loss, losing two kitties. You have our heartfelt best wishes
for better times ahead. Take care.

Jeanne
