The irony is hat one reason Charlie was considered not appropripriate by the
powers that flee was that he smoked dope, lol yet they name Conan, Dylan...

They have gone to a lot of trouble to keep a specific critter out of
my hands. I wonder what they think they are accomplishing. I also
wonder whose money they are spending to kennel the animal and run
these ads.

The value of this debacle and lengthy tempest is that is may cause a
few to re-examine their Usenet "values." Anyone who blathers about
uncompromisingly high standards etc. ought to get a markdown on
credibility. It's cheap talk people throw out to try to elevate their
status in a group -- nothing more. It is one of the most annoying
features of all these animals groups.

It's not always easy to find someone who wants an adult cat. Conan
isn't "special" outside this group, so why should anyone outside this
group offer him such an exceptional home? And why would someone in OC
deal with Monica's ****ty attitude when they can more easily go to a
local shelter?

I'm sad because Conan is missing out on the time of his life with all
the other happy animals here on the commune. I haven't been here for
awhile, but I have excellent people living here and lots of fun
activities for people and animals. I just shot a bunch of jpegs and I
will put a web page together later today.

Will there be more? Of course! This has turned into a game. Where will
you find the next one? We should put up a scoreboard.

Even better, it would be great if someone could reply to the ad, meet
with Dan and give the cat a good home. Yeah, this would be right on.
