Default Tucker's Progress

Thought I'd bring ya'll up-to-date on Tucker. Thanks to lots of good advice
and support from Megan I've been steadily making progress with my kitty
rehab case, Tucker. He's become a very sweet lovable boy and when I let him
out of his cat playpen in the mornings the first thing he does is jump on
Celeste's bed and crawl into each one of our laps and apply a very wet pink
nose to both of us. He's been spending more time out of his cage in
Celeste's room (with the louvre doors closed) and at night, at least once a
day, we've been putting the other kitties up in my room and letting Tucker
have a grand explore around the house. He's becoming more confident about
looking around although he still stresses after a while out and pants. But
he's used the litter boxes in the laundry room, drunk out of the pet
fountain, and eaten a small snack in the kitchen.

But, what is really nice to see is based on Megan's suggestion that Tucker
and Robin might become good playmates for each other is that I can now let
Robin into Celeste's room and the two kitties will wrestle, play and groom
each other. So the past few days, I've let them have playtime together 4-5
times a day and the past 2 nights I've let Robin be out with Tucker when
it's time for the grand explore. Tucker is much (!) more confident when he
has his pal Robin out with him. The next step is to try and get the other
kitties, Omar, Oreo & Midnight to accept Tucker and vice versa, too. When
Tucker is in his playpen, I do let the other kitties come and go into the
room and I've also gone through bags (!) of kitty treats so that they all
have something yummy to enjoy in the same room together.

What a long haul to acclimate everyone and we've still got a ways to go --
but I am so encouraged and wanted to pass along the good news!

Christine
