OK, you RPCA-ers, I have a mission and you've all never failed to have
answers!!

I need a pattern for catnip mousies.

There's plenty out there, here's one I found
http://www.dltk-kids.com/animals/mmousetoy.htm

I also need a recipe for homemade dog biscuits.

There's a bazillion of these out there as well, here's one page I found:
http://www.stretcher.com/stories/981130a.cfm

Just knocking around ideas to offer on our display table at an upcoming
downtown event for March. Any ideas are *greatly* appreciated.

HTH,

Yowie

THANK YOU, Yowie & Grace. A quick explanation why I haven't googled or
researched myself to find one--
I have a "calling plan" on my phone which allows unlimited use of the

phone
line for internet. (we have no local access number, it's long distance).

The
phone company in all its wisdom, discontinued the plan but failed to

notify
customers. Long story short, I got a phone bill yesterday for $1498. Yes,
fourteen HUNDRED ninety-eight dollars. I have contacted the Corporation
Commission who says I am *not* responsible for it since I wasn't notified,

but
until the mess can be straightened out, my internet time is *very* brief,

so
I'm only downloading newsgroups & mail for now. I'll check out the links

when I
get to work tomorrow. Thanks again, you guys.

My goodness - nearly 15 hundred dollars for a phone bill, Crikey!

What an evil phone company! Hisspits and litterbox contents to them!

I found a recipe for chewy dog biscuits (or not so chewy depending on
the length of time left in oven) long time ago. It was a great one. I'll
try to find it again.

Roughly though, it was a pound of liver pureed, various ingredients
spread out and baked until sorta like jerky.

Liver Dog Treats
1 pound raw liver (any kind) blended into a paste
1 egg
1cup flour
1/2 cup corn meal (or flour)
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix well and bake at 350 for 1/2 hour for chewy treats, longer for
crisper treats.

Basic Dog Biscuit Treats
Homemade dog treats are fun to make and healthier than many of the
store-bought versions.
I N G R E D I E N T S
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup corn meal
1 teaspoon iodized salt
2 teaspoons bonemeal
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
2 large eggs mixed with a 1/4 cup beef broth beef broth

I N S T R U C T I O N S
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Grease cookie sheets.

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add oil, peanut butter and egg
mixture and stir to combine. Knead the dough for 2 -3 minutes until it
holds together well adding additional broth if the dough is too stiff.
Allow the dough to rest for 30 minutes.

Roll dough out to about 1/2" thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut
into shapes with a knife or your favorite cookie cutter.

Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake for approximately 30
minutes until golden brown. Turn off the oven and allow the biscuits to
dry in the over for 2 hours or overnight. Once cooled they can be
stored in zip lock bags.

And, searchaholic that I am, and with a DSL-connection (bummer about
that phone bill thingy you have, hope it gets sorted out quickly), I did
find some catnip mousie patterns too:

I don't have a pattern or recipe to contribute, but I do have a couple
of suggestions. Make a few mousies (maybe of a different color or
fabric?) with chamomile in them instead of catnip - some cats I know
don't like catnip but love chamomile. Also, see if you can find a
recipe for the dog biscuits that doesn't include corn. Several of the
dogs I've known over the years were allergic to corn.

Oh, dear! That's terrible! I agree with both you and the Corporation
Commission. If the subscription conditions change, it is obvious that you
should be informed about that. Stupid company...

I pay NOK 550 per month for my ADSL connection (Asynchronous Digital
Subscriber Line, 1024 kB in, 256 kB out), I gues that is about USD 80, and
if I should experience anything like you have, I know that I would have a
solid backup from all the consumer organisations in Norway. It just couldn't
happen.
