Cats in the night

In the night
a bigger cat met my neighbor's
-- the one he trained to pump his brain
into my rosebed.
Fur flew and ugly
low tone meows were heard.
Next day the back of the neighbor's cat
was badly mauled.
They rushed him to a vet:
Two surgeons operated
at a cost of a small Beamer --
a price his owner never would have paid
for his mother.
Now his cat crawls about again
with his rear shaven close.
