I can't keep track of where everyone lives in this ng. If you're in the
States I have a tip for you to find cheaper bottled ornamental veggies/fruits. "Bev" wrote in message ... : Some months ago I acquired a little treasure. Clyde - Glass in the Tongue!
Some months ago I acquired a little treasure. I have always admired
those elegant bottles with ornamental fruit or vegetables inside, i.e. beautifully coloured yellows, reds and greens, usually a hideous price. Water will dilute the vinegar and the odor should leave in time. |

I live in New Zealand and there are quite a few of these sort of bottles around in gift shops. I seem to have lost my taste for them after this though, lol. I think somehow B&C know which are the more expensive targets for mischief though! Kathryn |

Uh oh.....you live in KiwiLand. I was going to say that in USA (at least
around my area) those things are a fraction of the "gift shop" cost at a chain store specializing in outlet retail from overstock of more expensive stores. The name of the chain is Big Lots (name is a parody on its purpose). "Kathryn" wrote in message u... : : Yes, I diluted it with heaps of water so hopefully it will smell better : soon. I keep most of my ornaments stored away in the spare room now (surprise surprise) so I won't be getting any more bottles until they become mature sensible cats - fat chance. Bev -- I believe in an open mind, but not so open that your brains fall out. Oooh, Bev! I can sympathize! I had long wanted a Galileo thermometer, those pretty glass tubes with floats inside that tell the temperature based on their position in the tube. I finally got one and put it on an upper shelf in an open shelving unit that also housed the TV. A few days later, just as I got to work, I got a call from DH saying "You'd better come home, Pippin's knocked over your thermometer. There's glass everywhere and the fluid inside smells flammable." DH was late for a meeting, so I rushed home to clean up the mess. There was indeed glass everywhere, and the fluid smelled like lamp oil. It was all over the back of the TV and the carpet. I cleaned up what I could, the rest evaporated pretty quickly and ultimately there was no harm to cats, electronics or carpet. But I still long to have a Galileo thermometer. (I may eventually pick up a wall-mounted one...) -Caroline S. |

I really enjoy reading about Bonnie and Clyde. And every time I do,
and see how well they live up (down?) to their names, I say a little prayer of thanks that they're not my cats. If they were mine, they wouldn't be mine any longer because I'm afraid that by now I'd have throttled one or both in reaction to all the mayhem they do. I really don't know how Bev and her DH put up with all the damage and destruction to their house and goods and property. Is their behavior typical of their breed? (Burmese, isn't it?) Or is it just their personalities? Are they likely to calm down a bit as they get older? Jeanne Hedge, as directed by Natasha http://www.jhedge.com |
