It's actually pretty manuverable. If 28mpg is pretty good, then I don't feel *too* bad about my WRX. It also feels like I use more gas than I do, simply because I use premium and so my gas bills are ginormous! I get about 30-32 on the highway depending on how long I'm driving, octane, etc. I get worse in the city (26-28) because I live in hilly Portland, OR. Most of the time I walk when the weather is nice, and will do more of that now since my sight loss has altered my ability to drive. Just doing my part for the environment, LOL... -L. |

Sorry, L., but I missed the type of car you're driving. I'm looking for a smaller (e.g., better gas mileage) myself. Sam, closely supervised by Mistletoe |

I've been getting about 35 mpg. It is city driving, but there are not a lot of starts and stops. The other small car I found with great gas mileage was the Toyota Corolla. The Ford Focus and the Saturn SL series were also pretty good. -- -Kim owned by Egbert, Niobe, Sekhar and Rocket take the cat out before you reply There are many intelligent species in the universe. FWIW, DH has a Saturn SC2 and we have had nothing but problems with the electrical system. The dang thing is a '97 and only has 20K miles on it because it sits so much. Needless to say, no more Saturns for us. -L. |

During that time, the timing belt broke once. That was the only major problem I had with it. Joy |

I had an '89 MR2 that I LOVED, and sold it in '93 with 186K on it. Then I bought a new RAV4 in '97. It was totalled in a high-speed rear-end collision (not my fault) in '03 - and we didn't have a scratch on our bodies - so we replaced it with a new RAV4S. DH bought a new Tundra at the same time. We love them! Gotta love that Japanese engineering. -L. |

My son drives a Corolla, my mother had a Cressida for 15 years and sold it and gave up driving when she turned 90, and my sister and her husband have two Toyota vans. I'm not sure what model they are, but one of them is at least 14 years old. Joy |
