I hope she can do this, but not everyone has the wherewithal to just run

You are right; I am not and have never been a watch person but have a
relative who is
a watch freak, especially $600 aviator types. I dunno what her tastes
are in watches but
whatever she likes and however long it takes to find something she
likes
1. She will have gotten out, have a purpose in doing so, and
2. when you go do something about a problem (loss of watch) and make
decisions about
how *you* want to solve it, you are not a victim persona.
3. Since God, though possibly responsible IHHO for the problem and
more, He is not handy
to drive her truck, so that leaves DH.
I am totally unable to relate to anyone who lets Life roll over them

I took her "God" comment as being at least partly facetious. I've never
had to deal with all the things she has, so I'm not about to give her
advice. If the watch were her only problem, and the cost wasn't a problem,
your solution might be appropriate. However, I've lived long enough not
to offer advice unless it is requested, and to be careful even then.

Considering all Lori has to deal with, she comes across as spending very
little time feeling sorry for herself. I think everyone is entitled to
the occasional pity party, and it seems to me she is handling things very

accident that has been available since 2001.

what I like about my docs is that they know they are not good,
if it's not a cough, cold or a sore hole (as my grandmother used to say)
mine send me immediately for a specialist opinion.
It does cost them some money.
There is another doctor in the village who refused to come out to my
friend's mother when she was having breathing difficulties. He'd failed to
diagnose that although he knew she had bowel cancer that it had spread to
her lungs.
She died gasping for breath. It could have been so much easier had he
stirred his a88

I agree about that. I also think it's ludicrous that doctors won't
prescribe narcotics to patients dying of cancer because they say they
don't want to cause addiction. Say what??!!! With that kind of
reasoning, how the heck did they manage to graduate from high school,
much less medical school.

I kind of like that as my Asian doctors cruise towards retirement and cannot
be bothered to keep up, they never fail to know that they are not good and
spend a lot of their money sending me to hospital for a better opinion.

They have to pay for a referral. I must have bankrupted my poor doctors
recently for the shoulder op plus physiotherapy and hydrotherapy and they
might have to fund something else as my consultant is not happy with my
shoulder function. Neither am I. I might have to have another operation.
Oh, joy.
Consultant says maybe my upper arm muscles have collapsed or a tendon or
ligament has ruptured.

I told him from the start that the muscles were very damaged and I was in
more pain from this than anything, and it has taken him 4 months to believe
me.

That's completely strange to me - but we don't have socialized medicine
here.

As much as I hope you don't have this, you might want to mention RSD.
There are very few tests for it, but if they catch it early they can
cure it.
