furr eating behaviour

Hi, one of my cats has been grabbing clumps of furr (ie after a brushing
session) and eating them. Any idea why she's doing this? (I have to
literally drag her away and yank the furr out of her mouth)

Hodge does this, too, and so did Pudge, IIRC.

Drives me nuts. I thnk it is a natural response to not leave traces of
presence around. If I don't notice a chunk on the carpet first, one of them
vacuums it up. Ugh!!! I'm trying to keep it OUT of your stomach.
