Default dry pet food recall

FYI, a voluntary pet food recall has been announced by the FDA and Mars
Petcare US. This involves possible Salmonella contamination. More
information can be found at the below sites. This involves both Cat and
Dog dry food under various brand names all produced by Mars Petcare.

Well, I slid by on that one: I have 36 pounds of listed brands in the
closet and another 20 or so staged for current feeding. Different plant
code though.

I had a bad moment when I realized that Spooky had been eating recalled
brands just before he died (no Salmonella symptoms though), but I was
relieved to discover that the codes, at least on the stashed bags, doen't
match.

Thanks for the heads up.

Nothing we feed is on the list. But Charlie will hear this on the
news and panic, so at least I'm prepared in advance to reassure him.
