homeopathic remedies?
What are you thoughts on homeopathic remedies for cats? I know almost
nothing about them but someone I met recently says that she's used them on her cats for years. One thing she mentioned is Rescue Remedy. Thanks. Jean |

One thing she mentioned is Rescue Remedy. Anything may work on humans, as long as the patient strongly enough *believes* that it'll work. Our system seems to be able to do strange things. OTOH our animal patient doesn't know, what a medicine is, or that a pill could help. There is no placebo-effect taking place in our companion animals. Homeopathy is *not* a scientific method. There is no clear cut, defined proof of either effectiveness or reproducibility. If you want to help your companion animal, have it diagnosed by approved, scientific standards, and see, what approved methods are available for help. Keep in mind, that the individual veterinary may not be representative for the state of the art - go and find out an excellent one. Don't blame science as such for an unlucky experience with a lacking representative. Unfortunately, there are illnesses, against which science did not yet come up with a cure. If you want to stress your purse, try whatever you want, then, as long as it does not do harm or stress the patient. Tender loving care, gentle affection, granting security and wellness imho are much better medicines than homeopathy. Best wishes to your furries, Eb |
