Here is a link http://preview.tinyurl.com/27yqgug Thanks for posting such a cute story! I also found a video here that's interesting in that you can see how they captured her by removing pallets, luring her with food, and finally just reaching under and grabbing her with gloved hands. http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Canada/201...ndarin-100712/ |

Of course, it's driving me crazy that they keep calling her a calico when she's clearly a tortoiseshell like my Princess Rita. I'm so glad she's found a home. She deserves it. What a survivor! LOL, I guess nobody told Roxy that by 12 years old she was supposed to have stopped. Joyce -- There is no alternative to being yourself. |

I can always count on her kneading my side at bedtime She's approximately 13. Jill |

She sucks LOUDLY too - like she's really going to get some milk out of that toe. Jill You're quite lucky then, because last night, what I felt was bunnykicking on my left arm, accompanied by chomping on my elbow. I ignored it, but I know who it was. It wasn't Dot, because that would involve nestling into my right arm and rythmically plucking at my clothing. |

Jane - owned and operated by the Princess Rita .....I thought torti's didn't have white fur(?) Just the mixture of black and orange/ginger/tan(?) Of course, not all calico cats are the classic mostly white with black and orange patches, that we see so often. THat aside, Mandarin is still one VERY LUCKY KITTEN! Beyond just surviving the trip, she was lucky enough to go to a country where she got immediate, excellent veterinary care. Imagine if she had gotten into a container that was sent to a third world country When the container was opened, who knows what would have happened to her? It would be nice if all this publicity helps some of the other cats and kittens in the shelter where Mandarin is to get adopted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ "Life without cats would be only marginally worth living." -TC, and the unmercifully, relentlessly, sweet calico kitty, Kenzie. Every day is a treasure with Kenzie; I try to treat them that way. There will only be so many, and then there will never, ever, be any more.
