It is definitely ready for your cat to eat. Just leave it in the
dirt and let kitty munch. I buy pet grass when it is just starting
to sprout, maybe about 1 inch tall (at Whole Foods Market). It grows
very, very quickly. Once it gets to about 5 inches, I find that it
gets kinda moldy so I just toss it. Sometimes I do cut it back. I
usually buy it once a week. You can sprout your own too.

Once a week! This box thing cost £2.99, that works out to nearly 50% of my
feeding costs to feed IAMS wet food and Hills Natures Best dry.

I don't think Murphy will be dining on grass all the time.

Thanks everyone.

Rachel

PS..you're not kidding it grows very fast....I swear it grew another inch or
two today!

I bought a 50 pound bag of oat seeds at a feed store for $8.00. I plant
a new batch as soon as I see the previous batch start to grow. When it
is about 4 inches high I put it down for the cats to nibble on. The
potting soil is a bigger expense than the seeds.
