What do you use for hairball remedies for your fur children?

I had been using Petromalt and another one, then I read that they may
not be healthy for them to ingest.

Thank you.

Rusty's vet recommended canned pumpkin. One teaspoon a day. Rusty
loves
it. But I heard some cats won't eat it. Pumpkin has high fiber content
and should
be a healthy choice.

My vet said that using things like Petromalt coats the stomach and the
cats don't absorb nutrients from their food. So it should be used
short term only. My cats won't eat pumpkin. I have had great success
with Temptations for Furballs. Grocery stores carry it in a foil
packet.

I provide oat grass which seems to take care of the problem. They throw
grass up once in a while but I rarely see a hairball.
