Default Vet Tech Journals: First day......

It was very light on my first day... it's a very small clinic so we
don't have a large client base yet.

So I took the time to study up on their equipment, care and
maintenance, read their protocol manuals etc.

I was in the treatment room, reading up when suddenly I heard a loud
"MRRRRROOOOOWWWWW!"

I almost jumped, but it certainly got my attention.....we didn't have
any patients at the time.

Then I heard it again, this time behind me. "MRRRROOWW!"

I turn around and look down...

There's a brown, fluffy cat looking up at me.....and that look
demanded attention........correction, it demanded attention NOW......

I scritched her ears and then went back to work, which resulted in her
jumping on to the counter and sitting on the chart I was trying to
read.

Her name is China and she's the hospital cat. She loves to sit in the
waiting room on the window sill, as well as on the receptionist
counter, which can prove for some interesting moments when a client
brings in a bird for a checkup.

She only gets w/d and she already tried to mooch off of my chicken
caesar salad during an employee meeting.

But she's also a pretty fluffy girl with a sassy attitude to match,
and just LOVES back scritches....

I hope it's a good omen for a happy gig.
