Hi All,

So I'm sitting here whining to myself that I seemed to have gotten
relatively few follow-ups to my last two stories.

Oh dear, I'm sorry. When I log on, there are usually something like
140 new messages, and I can't possibly repond to all. But that
doesn't mean I don't read or appreciate. Plenty of times I post
something I think is a scream, and there's no response. I guess it
depends on many variables.

Hi All,

Sorry about the three mixed up messages. I was re-reading the
article and decided to troll myself for carrying on that way. I
changed the 'email address' and 'reply to' fields, but forgot to
change the 'name' field. Duh!!

I still think I deserve to be trolled for carrying on that way. I
tried to cancel the messages, but screwed up and resent them. If your
server did cancel the messages, just forget you saw this.

What a maroon!

Hi All,

So I'm sitting here whining to myself that I seemed to have gotten
relatively few follow-ups to my last two stories. I knew that I had
satisfied myself with them by the time they were finished, but where
were the precious add-on articles telling me how full of pathos was
the story of Puss Puss' year on the streets as an old bag lady. Where
were the kind words remarking on my exposition of the tricks of my
Smokey man who'd prefer to get picked up than leap to the top of a
counter on his own? Whine! Whine! Whine!

And all this whining on a day when the keeper of a web page of cat
stories asked if I would consent to have my story of Smokey as the
bos'n of the good ship Mouser published on his web page. Jeeeeezzz -
some people are hard to please. The webmaster already has some
stories up from one among our number. Several of Jill Mcquown's
articles grace the web site too. You can see it at
http://blakjak.com/sty_menu.htm
My stories should be up in a day or two, but hopefully you've already
seen them.

Unfortunately it is not that simple. They will appear, yes, but until
I find a week or two spare from my other activities there is no
guarantee when. Sorry!

Guess this pretty well describes my current postings tread. When I
first started with the group last year, I posted several original
stories, but have sort of tapered off. Now I usually respond to purr
requests, but haven't really written any new stories. I read the
stories, but usually only respond with a sort of "that reminds me
of..." instead of commenting on how good the story may or may not be.
Probably wrong to do it that way, since as CatNipped said, you need to
give the story writer some little positive feedback if you want them
to continue to contribute.

As for my own meager contributions with original stories, I don't
really look for positve feedback. I can spend all day at work thinking
about the silly things one of the cat did, and how to tell the story.
That's where I get the payoff, not from the comments of the readers.
These days I still get a little concerned if there's no comment at
all, but am happy with just a couple positive comments.
