Lids for Fancy Feast
Does anyone have a source for lids that fit Fancy Feast cans? My lids
are tearing and I can't find anything that works. Even the ones that say they fit multiple size cans are too big for Fancy Feast. |

I just wrap them in a bit of gladwrap and stick them in the fridge if I have to save some. (or you could get a little 'snack sized' plastic container and put the excess fancy feast in that...) |

I got a small plastic lid that fit those perfectly at my local Petco last year. I think they had two sizes, and this one is small - it has a diameter smaller than a Pringles can lid. |

When Persia was still allowed to have Fancy Feast (before she went on a prescription diet in 2004) I did exactly what you said; covered them with plastic wrap and stored them in the fridge. They aren't really large cans so how long could one possibly need to store them? Jill |

I either put it in a sandwich baggie or use a piece of aluminum foil. I have never seen a suitable lid. MLB |

Even the ones that say they fit multiple size cans are too big for Fancy Feast. PetFoodDirect shows two different types of lids. The smaller ones are approximately 2 5/8" in diameter. I would guess that these would fit Fancy Feast. They are called Flex-o-Lid Pet Food Can Covers. Then you can zip the empty can inside the bag when you toss it out and no stinky garbage can. Jo |

That's a very good idea- we don't have Fancy Feast here in the UK through but it sounds to me that the cans must be the same as the "Hi life" small ones, which my cats devour as if they haven't seen food in years! (as opposed to their usual "not seen food for months" routine at meal times) and I've always hated the fact they stink the bin out, which is becoming a big consideration as in some parts of the UK bins can only be put out on collection days and that is spreading so if I feed "Hi Life" (I think that's what its called) then we have the smell and as we have a small flat it then ends up stinking of cat food unless I take the bin liner out (for the moment we don't have times to put them out here) which kinda puts me off feeding them the stuff (most of their wet food is pouches, which for some reason don't seem to have the same effect) even through they love it and it's good quality stuff So maybe now I'll get it for them more often and use a Ziploc bag! Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs PS Dunzi and Sarsi sez fangu 'cos this means Meowmie might buy us some more of da real good gooshy food! |

Lesley Slave of the Fabulous Furballs I use Wellness canned food, so there is no problem finding lids that fit. However, I don't have any problem with odor from canned food because I rinse the cans before I dispose of them. That uses very little water and solves any problem with odor or attracting insects.
