Are you out of your ****ing minds?

Posting to Usenet, "how can I tell if a lump on my cat is cancer or not
without a vet visit or biopsy?"

And some of you who are not quite this stupid and malicious expect those of
us who actually like cats better than the bottle NOT to get upset?

****heads.

I think that's probably why a lot of intelligent people who know a lot about
cats stopped posting here (it's the reason Lyn cited - she said something
about people posting "my cats eye is hanging out by a thread and I can't
afford a vet, what should I do?" type posts).

Thank GAWD Phil hasn't gotten sick of it and left! I live in dread of that
happenstance.

Hugs,

CatNipped

Cybercat: I'm not sure your a mental case but you are certainly an
under-educated crass bore of the highest magnitude!!

Anyone..ANYONE in their right mind who likes the help they can get in
this newsgroup has either totally block filtered every rude, nasty spew
from you or they soon learn to ignore you..but...Filtering you is the
proper way though and the best way and eventually this newsgroup will
be educated on how easy it is to do, I'm going to take a personal
interest in this. hehehe

BTW, I haven't BOZO'd you yet..I want to follow your vile posting
history for several reasons and since you virtually stink up the
newsgroup I'll get plenty. Your days of running people out of this
newsgroup because they didn't know how to avoid your pathtic uncooth
postings are numbered lady...or whatever you are.

Cybercat has inexplicably targetted me for an orgiastic thrill-ride
rollercoaster troll treatment. I have a good suspicion of who they
are. I think Cybercat gives a little squeal of glee when seeing my
posts - another chance for anonymous character assassination.

Anyway, I'm back here enough now where I'm rebuilding my kill filter,
and it was pretty satisfying to plonk Ms. Cybercat just a moment ago.

Thanks to all of you who are still here and post useful stuff.

Cybercat feels very strongly on this subject of cats and tends to react
quickly because of it. She's not alone and some others are no more moderate
in their approach, but enough of us are I think to keep this group workable
for all.

For my part, I would *wish* all of us could afford a vet anytime our cat got
the sniffles or something, but I can also understand finding a beloved pet
has a disease you can not financially pay for and to have the vet give
advice on when it might be best to put them to sleep so as to avoid them
feeling pain.

Let me give a specific example. I had one cat put to sleep. This cat was
16 (possibly several older than that, we never knew) and senile (kidney
disease). It knocked a glass salt shaker off a counter in the night, then
ingested glass bits out of the catfood dish not far away. Found in the
morning with blood in many places as it cut it's mouth up while eating but
continued to eat. The kidney disease may have been treatable but the odds
of survival from the glass in the intestinal tract was not so likely. He
was put down right away rather than put through exploratory surgery to find
all the glass, then extensive costs to attempt to deal with the kidney
damage with at best a 50% survival rate for the next year. Sad but true,
sometimes the best answer is to let the pet go.

What squicks me out totally and WILL cause me to flame, is anyone who cant
make this decision and instead just *abandons* a pet because they cant
afford treatment and are too afraid to 'look bad' to make the hard choice.
That's how I got that cat. No one else would have him. We were just
looking into treating his condition when it happened (not but a week at home
and an initial vet visit with a specialist followup).

A fellow named 'Phil' here does the rescue center. I am the sort of person
who tasks the unplacable pets he might encounter. I dont do the 'temp home'
but have had many (I am not a young chicken anymore damnit! but i have
experience due to this).

I currently have 2 rescue pets. Both deemed 'unadoptable' by most. 1 dog
who was positive for heartworms with obvious heart damage (though turned out
to not have an enlarged heart) with over 1,200$ vet work this past 6 months.
The other is a cat (more on topic for here) who is a lovely lady but will
*not* take to children (Charlotte is the only known one she likes and she's
14 and raised from infancy with cats) and will now allow anyone to pick her
up. Daisy's problems are behavioral and not medical. She spent 18 months
in temp places until she adopted us. Solid white with green eyes, she is a
true beauty that most would adopt in preference to just about any other
kitty, she had *no* offers before us. Even the 'no kill' places were about
to give up on her.

Daisy's favorite perch, is on Cash-pup's back. Daisy's favorite game is to
grab one of his toys (almost as big as her) and run til he notices and
chases her. Cash-pup has only growled once and it was at the vet's when she
got scared (he got quite protective) and she jumped down to hide behind him
as soon as released then positively howled when he was taken away for his
MRI/EKG work.

Ok lets face it, I got a cat and a dog, living in sin g.

FYI, most of the regs here have rescue cats and other pets. This doesn't
make you unique.
