Default Unusual injury from a cat

I got up this morning and couldn't see either of the Furballs so I
went into the living room and there they were both out for the count-
last night I made ham sandwiches for tea and then since we have guests
tonight, to save time I did sandwiches for them, yes, I spent much of
Xmas night in the kitchen (still as at 2 minutes into the day I was
unblocking the toilet so it's an improvement!) and the cats did
mightily well from this and were curled up still sleeping it off.
Dunzi was asleep by the door and Sarsi had taken residence on Dave's
wheelchair (that may be going back in another month or so and she is
not going to be happy about that!) curled up and if I say so myself
looking adorable (something the punk kitten only manages when asleep)
so adorable that all I wanted to do was smurgle so I bent down to bury
myself in her lovely fur when....

OUCH!!!!!

She jumped up and as she did so the tip of one of her ears poked my
left eye- just the tip...of course this deposited some cat hair in my
eye so that started to steam. Took about half an hour before it
stopped hurting! And it's still a bit sore and pink

I see - the cat motto "If you can't use your claws or teeth....use
your ear"

I actually laughed out loud at this - must be the weirdest injury from a
cat ever. Purrs that your eye feels better soon.

Marina with the much more traditional scratch, Miranda and Caliban.
In loving memory of Frank and Nikki.

The mind boggles how the cats did mightily well from you unblocking the
toilet. ;o)

Well I suppose it was funny. Dave was getting dressed in the bedroom
when he heard me yelp and he ran in to check what was up (Well ran as
fast as he can) and there I was standing there rubbing a red and
streaming eye and when I said "Sarsi poked her ear in my eye" he
laughed as well

It's okay now- there are worse things a cat can poke you in the eye
with- like a claw- I'm fairly sure it was an accident and she didn't
mean it

If she'd meant it she would have got _both_ eyes. ;-)

That's why that bit was in brackets- they in fact did mightily well
from the sandwich making, I was making them with ham, beef, chicken
and cheese (not all in the same ones obviously- through I did ham and
cheese pannini which will go into the sandwich maker- we have one of
those cafe style ones for anyone who likes the idea of a toasted
cheese and ham paninni- like me for example) and the odds and ends
were happily recieved by the two scrap disposal systems I have
whenever I am making sandwiches

Yow! Hope it heals up quickly.
