Default Who's comfy now? (another Buffy pic)

After Buffy spent a couple of minutes on the freshly washed "crackle
sack" I looked around and she'd disappeared. I figured she'd wandered
into the den, or maybe the guest bedroom.

I got up to do something and guess where she was? In the carpeted
barrel of Persia's old cat perch.

She looks pretty smug and comfy, doesn't she? G

She had been giving me a heck of a time since I sat down at the computer
this morning, wanting to be in my lap. Since I'm not used to that I am
not encouraging it. She snuck up anyway under the arm of the chair.
Ah, but my small computer desk has a roll-out keyboard tray. She leaned
against it and it rolled back. She nearly fell off my lap! I said see?
This is why this isn't a good place for you to sit.

I pointed out carpeted cat furniture to her again this morning. I guess
after the moves-by-itself keyboard tray this seems like a better place
to lounge around. She's right behind me, she can see me if she wants
to. She can hear me tapping on the keyboard so she knows I'm right here.

I think she looks extremely cute, and rather unique, with her solid buff
color, squishy looking udder, sea-green eyes, notched ex-feral ear tip,
smug smile, and freckled nose.

Concatulations on the new owner! She sounds like she's settling in
nicely, and she's a lovely gurlcat!

Glad she's found such a good home!

I'm so glad that you found such a NICE cat in such desperate need of a
new home. She sounds like a real sweetheart.

And Jill, like a cat newbie, was probably afraid that her next cat, if any
came at all, would be aloof. But instead, Buffy's personality sounds more
like my late Betty's - always waiting for the next lap.

Before I was owned by Persia I'd always "heard" cats were aloof... who
started that silly rumour?! People who have never been around cats,
that's who. Or people who visited homes where the cats hid or were shy
around certain people, maybe.

Oh, I'm sure there are some aloof housecats. I just haven't run into
any.

I was told before I went to get Buffy she was timid but truly a lap cat.
She certainly was a little love-bug when I went to get her. She was
sort of hiding on a dining room chair. She had been living with Frankie
the cat who was a bully. Then she lost her owner and was left with a
part-time care-giver and alone most of the day with Frankie.

I showed up. She let me pet her and purred. Then came the coaxing her
into the carrier with food thing... She was like WTH is going on? You
tricked me! Where the hell are we going and why am I in this
handbasket?!

She got comfortable in my house pretty quickly. Now she's turned into a
furry little pest... uh, I mean, friend.

I'd say she found her clingy niche pretty quickly! Rehoming is not always
that smooth, so it must've meant to be.

I know! At least I didn't have to integrate her with other cats.

BTW, this is no longer my chair. I've resigned myself to the fact I
can't keep her off the chair when I'm at the computer. She sits next to
me, purring, nice and happy. She gets scritches and talked to while I type.

The moment I get up she's taken over the chair. Today has been pretty
much a pick her up, sit down, get up, pick her up, sit down day. She's
keeping me amused, that's for sure.

I think at some point her tail was broken. Right at the base where it
joins the body, there seems to be a slight crick/crookedness to it. No
hindrance, though. She has a lovely striped tail.

She also wags her tail a lot. Not as if she's agitated, just... I
dunno, like a dog? (This is only my second cat, gimme a break, folks!)
Do cats wag their tails if they're happy?

Oh, and I put a breakaway collar on her today. Just in case she decides
to try the great outdoors (doubtful) and someone finds her they will
know she's owned.

So far she's as nonchalant about the collar as she has been about
everything else. Buffy is a remarkably adaptable cat.

My cats love being in those barrels.
