Ginger-lyn When I go shopping for cat care supplies, I generally buy 75 to l00 lbs. of kitty litter, three bags inside the cart and one underneath. The rest of the cart gets filled up with cat food. By the time I get up to the checkout (huffing and puffing) nearly always, someone says to me: "Man! How many cats do you have?" and I reply with a wink: "All of them." I've seen people wandering around in the pet supplies area with a lost & overwhelmed look on their faces. I usually ask what sort they've just adopted, and then help them pick out a starter kit for either kitten or puppy. And if its a kitten, I always tell them about RPCA too. Yowie |

"Yowie" wrote I can haul my 120kg frame down to the train station (about a mile away) in under 20 minutes and not be out of breath. Like to see a "slim" person do the same thing. Yowie Well, to be honest I probably could. I weigh around 125 lbs perhaps 130. I don't understand why anyone discriminates again large people. One of my best friends is so large, that no doctor's surgery can weigh her, she has to go to the railway station to go on their machine. I haven't asked her what she weighs - why would I? Probaby 30 stone 30 x 14lb. work that out. Why does her weight matter? It's her choice. She is lovely and has been a great help to me recently. Why does it matter what size anyone is? As far as I'm concerned it's irrelevant. What matters to me is not my friend's size, just how good a friend she/he is. Tweed |

don't understand why anyone discriminates again large people. And to turn the tables, people don't seem to understand why it's NOT acceptable for them to make "You're so skinny you're going to blow away..." type remarks. They would never dream of saying "You're so fat you're going to blow up" to a large person. It's just as hurtful, and it's the same thing. Arrrggh. Rant over. Sherry |

under 20 minutes and not be out of breath. Like to see a "slim" person do the same thing. Yowie A few months ago I was shopping in Norwich. In the mall I needed to go up a flight of stairs to the next level. I bounded up whizzing past a slim young thing who was puffing her way up the stairs. She was with her boyfriend, who looked a bit stunned when a middle-aged fat lady whizzed past them. I had a smug moment to myself ;-) Cheers, helen s --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove fame & fortune **$om $ --Due to financial crisis the light at the end of the tunnel is switched off-- |
