OT Help an old man out with romance
"meee" wrote in message ... "NMR" wrote in message ... Everyone knows that men are creatures of habit and we have no romantic sense an any part of our body when we are growing up. It takes a good better half drilling into our heads for us to do it right. I do something special every year for my better half. I try an top the year before. It gets really hard sometimes. Tell me what you think tell if you think I am doing good Valentines Day breakfast Swedish Country Style Scrambled Eggs Swedish Sausage Potato Cakes Cinnamon Buttermilk Waffles with fresh strawberries ( which are in season) and blue berries Cinnamon Fritters After a wholesome hand prepared breakfast for the both of us. I am taking her window shopping in Mt. Dora it is a small town the specializes in being country friendly filled with quaint little old style shops. We will need to work that breakfast off. We are going to have a light lunch picnic with some of our other couple friends on the towns antique railroad that takes you out sight seeing around a huge lake thru historic areas. Lunch will be Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps Creamy cucumber salad Bruschetta using Spanish red onions and fresh basil on baguette bread Rolled Chicken & Mushroom Omelette sliced up and made into finger food Heart shaped Cherry Jell-O cake with cool whip topping From there us guys are going to go and disappear and leave the other half's together to do a scavenger hunt. We have a chauffeured vehicle it will take them all together so they can have some fun together for a few hours. At the end of the scavenger hunt it will lead each people to their individual better half's special evening. I have my lady coming to a water front restaurant in time to watch the sunset. Where we will enjoy dinner, live music and dancing for a few hours. The place is a casual restaurant called the inlet harbor http://www.inletharbor.com/restaurant.html. It is a nice restaurant that has great ambiance, scenic views of birds, boats in the marina and there is a nearby lighthouse in sight. Plus it is inside so we won't freeze our butts off. When she gets home there will be single rose on her pillow, Don't worry furballs will not be in the bedroom to eat it Inside the rose will be something similar to this http://tinyurl.com/93t68 . She love pink sapphires so I got a something a little special for her So tell me ladies has this man done good or will it blow up in my face Matthew That's lovely!!! I hope you have a most perfect day!!! You deserve it- she must be a very special lady for you to go to all this trouble. Yes she is and she deserves it everyday |

Well it went excellent all day. The window shopping we found some nice
knick knacks. The train ride was refreshing. I should have said the lunch was made in finger food size individual proportions. The girls which included a couple guys loved the scavenger hunt. The sunset was beautiful over the marina. The food was great along with the live music dancing proved challenging. But it all went great she is exhausted I had an extra surprise for her when we got home besides the ring in the roses; tears were there when she saw it. There was a big box of Garfield chocolates by godiva about 3 lbs worth. sitting on the pillow We had about 10 extra surprise when we got home tonight. Her daughter college dorm had a power outage classes were cancelled. There is no heat in the dorm rooms. She brought her girlfriends home with her they are all camped out in the TV room. We got home to a bunch of hungry teenagers. I ordered a couple pizzas and made them some more bruscetta and hot chocolate. We watched a couple movies and everyone is fast asleep. I got up to do some paperwork. Decide to check out my post. So I take it you ladies were impressed what I had planned for the day. Every partner ( being politically correct ) should do something special whenever they can for their better half. I do simple things a phone call in the middle of the day saying I love you. A note hidden where they can find it later in the day. Drop by the work drop of a flower or surprise them some how. We both do this all the time and we have been together for quite awhile Now I got to do a couple things 1 start planning for her birthday, and next valentine's day 2 I need to get up and go to the store 15 people for break fast in the morning 3 make a plan for today if the girls stay you can only live on pizza for so long Good night everyone or Good Day depending on where you are Matthew |

OT Help an old man out with romance

Join the gang! What I got yesterday, was what I get every year. He wakes up, leans over and whispers in my ear "I didn't get you a Valentine's card is that okay? You know it's just another commercialised American idea don't you?" As I say "Romance is dead and I live with the man who killed it!" Can I ask, out of curiosity, do the women ever get Valentine things for their boyfriends or husbands? Or is this just a one-way kind of thing? I'm asking because I've heard a couple of women complain that their husbands don't do anything for them on V-day, but I've never heard any women say they do special stuff for their guys. Not meant as a criticism, just a bit of an anthropological study. Joyce |

Joyce Well in the interest of your study, oldest grandson came home with gifts from girlfriend last night pretty much equal to gifts taken to her. I do have to wonder about all the very scant lingerie gifts on display at the mall over the weekend. I'm sure there will be a number of recipients who are offended at the notion that they are both expected to appreciate such a gift but also to appreciate it. In particular if that is all they get. We don't do much for V-day. -- Hugs, CatNipped See all my masters at: http://www.PossiblePlaces.com/CatNipped/ |
