Default Odd markings

I've adopted a stray with odd markings. He is basically a tabby, but his
stripes run the length of his body instead of vertically on his sides.
Does anybody have any idea what breed may have given him longitudinal
stripes?

It probably happened when the aliens abducted him. Gotta pic?

Nope, no idea. Any chances of a pic of him posted on
alt.binaries,pictures.animals?

He was doing a headstand when the markings were given to him.

This sounds like a basic tortoise-shell pattern that is elongated.
I've seen this a lot before. Ordinarily a tortoise-shell loop will
start around the front legs and loop under on the back legs. The loop
can start forward or back of those spots, and if far enough away, it'd
look like he just had long stripes.

It's not any particular breed, just the vagaries of genetics.

Thanks.

I'll see what I can do about posting a picture.
