Sent off the forms for the drop kerb today. A surveyor will come out, have
a look and hopefully agree it.
It's going to cost a whole lot of money, but it will be worth it. If I look
outside now, I know my nice new neighbour is blocking me in, even if they
have only one car there, they do it.
When I get my own drop kerb - three months probably - in front of my own
house, they will be fined if they do this. I can get the police to give
them a ticket (25 quid) or tow their car away and it costs hundreds to get
it back.
I'll go for the towing option, as last time I went round to ask them to move
their car so I could get out they shouted at me, and if I responded in kind
this would be a breach of the
peace.
It's so sad. The kerb was meant to be shared as it always has been. No
worries, I'll get my own, but it is still a concern as what will they do
next?

They sound like the neighbors from hell. Good luck to you!

If you were reasonably handy with hand tools, I could make some
suggestions to keep this idiot neighbor busy.

Good Luck! I live on the west side of London and we have trouble with
parking spaces especially near schools I have room for a parking space
in my front garden and I would have to pay for the dropped kerb and also to
have a parking area paved or concreted but it would be worth having it
done.

By coincidence - I hope G - there was a story, with video, on yesterday
evening's news about a huge fight among neighbors which started because
someone blocked their neighbor's half of a shared driveway. Six people were
arrested, and three were taken to the hospital.

Well, I'm sorry, but you won't be allowed concrete. New hard
standings for vehicles must comply with 'SUDS' - Sustainable
Drainage Systems. New surfaces must be porous, such as permeable
block paving, or plastic grids infilled with ballast, or
something known as "GrassCrete".

Thanks. They have a builder in all day doing stuff in the yard and he parks
over the "shared" drop kerb all day and when the owner comes home she makes
sure she does that too. There's a whole road to park in, just yards parking
their car away would enable me to get out.
They parked over my neighbours drop kerb yesterday. She couldn't get her
car into her drive when she came home from work.
She was not best pleased, they seem to be doing all they can to be unpopular
here.
