Default could bluegrass cost you your tail?

I was at a bluegrass event at a local pub (the Sun Inn, Lothianbridge)
last weekend - they do two of these events a year, fundraising for a
cancer charity. The pub has a resident ginger cat, Tiger, who spends
most of the day lazing about on the seats to be stroked by the customers.
Some time ago he lost his tail in a road accident (the pub is on the A7
trunk road south from Edinburgh) but it doesn't seem to have bothered

He also lost his tail in a road accident (much more serious, he was
badly smashed up and needed some very expensive surgery). He's huge -
over 14 pounds - and for most the time about as energetic as a draught
excluder. He goes to folk sessions and sleeps through everything from
banjo to bagpipes in his fleecy tiger-striped basket.

So, this weekend the two of them met. And ignored each other.

*Two* tailless ginger cats that both hang out in folk music pubs seems
beyond a coincidence.
