That strikes me as a very charming name - it sounds like a legitimate name,
unlike, say, oregano or asafoetida.

Looking at a television news program years ago I saw the name Sheetta (said
She Etta). Poor girl. Imagine what children called her when they wanted to
be mean. There currently is a Sheetta on Facebook (probably not the same
person).

Breakfast Casserole

ennessee Scramble

2 Tbs. butter or margarine
1 Tbs. chopped onion
8 eggs, scrambled
1/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 c. cubed cooked ham (turkey "ham" is fine)
1/2 c. browned pork sausage, well drained
3/4 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese (lowfat is fine)

In a 2 qt. casserole, combine butter, onion and mushrooms.
Microwave on Medium until butter melts and onion is clear, 2-3 minutes,
stirring frequently.
In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, salt, parsley, rosemary and cayenne.
Whisk
until well blended. Pour into casserole with butter and onion. Stir in
sausage,
ham, mushrooms and half the cheese. Microwave on High 7-8 minutes, stirring
2-3 times, until eggs are set yet still moist. Sprinkle with remaining
cheese. Microwave 1 minute on Medium. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand
until cheese fully melts and eggs are a little more set. Stir before
serving.

Serves 4-6 Invite some friends!

Thanks, Jill! Would you call this a quiche? I'm trying to imagine
the consistency of it.

It's sort of a crustless quiche. The consistency depends on how set the
eggs are, and that's up to your personal preference. Recipes are a guide,
not an exact science

[cat called Precious]
Someone where I work (an actual person) is named Precious.
I would have killed my parents.

Here, we'd just assume the parents were Alexander McCall Smith fans.

That sounds good! I love quiche, but I no longer eat flour (diabetes). All
I need to do is a bit of division to make a smaller amount.

Thanks,

John has a friend whose granddaughter had to move and, for whatever
reason, couldn't take her cat with her. So they asked if he'd take
her. She's an 11 year old calico named Precious. Naturally he didn't
want her to be dumped in a shelter, and he loves cats, so he said yes.

He brought her home two days ago. Of course she promptly hid. LOL He's
got both gooshy and dry food for her (the granddaughter gave him all
the cat supplies she had). He already had a litterbox. I warned him
before he got her, it's going to take her a while to adjust to a new
home. (When I brought Persia here from Tennessee she hid for two
weeks, only coming out at night to eat and use the litterbox.)

In the middle of that first night Precious got up on the bed with him.
He awoke to kitty whiskers tickling his face She gave him some head
butts and let him pet her. He drifted off again, happy and convinced
she'd curl up next to him and go to sleep. Wrong! While he was
sleeping Precious got down. She probably did a little exploring. When
daylight came she was hiding again. He was so disappointed!

I said honey, you have to be patient. Cats don't like change,
especially not an 11 year old cat. It will take some time but she'll
get used to her new surroundings in her own time. I think it's an
excellent first step that she got up on the bed to check him out that
first night

Jill

How lovely. She has already shown him that she quite likes him, I think
she will soon come out hiding. As you say, they don't like change but she
will soon adjust to her new home and slave.

Judith

She's probably thrilled that the d-o-g things are gone.

That's for sure. I take most recipes to be a jumping-off point for my own
additions.

I reduced the quanities and had to leave the Rosemary etc out as I
didn't have any but substituted mixed herbs and black pepper- made it
for tea tonight- gonna be a staple around here- delicious! And fast
especially as I had some very nice sausage I'd cooked for Dave this
morning that he then decided I'd done too many sausages and there was
a cold one in the fridge so I shoved that in
