Default Mr F, my car

When my brother passed away in January, cards were in his name.
It was difficult for my sister-in-law to get her own.
With no credit to point to,

I'm reminded of when my dad died- mum called the bank the next morning to let them know and they were all "we're sorry to hear that" etc but as it was a joint account they immediately stopped it until they'd seen the death certificate and then took 2 weeks to change it. Yeah the morning after my dad died my mum had about £6 in her purse and they expected her to pay for the funeral and survive for 2 weeks on what she had in her purse! It didn't do much for her stress levels to put it mildly! Luckily she had us kids especially my then rich Yuppie brother who covered everything but what if she'd been on her own?

Dave and me have separate bank accounts and both hold credit cards in our own names
